Day 21 - Stone Collaboration w00tstout

I’ve been sipping on the beer for a while now trying to think of the correct words to describe it…but all I can come up with is “happy”. This beer tastes like happy. It took all the things about stouts that are wonderful and perfect and wrapped them up into this one amazingly happy bottle. It saddens me that this won’t be available for forever. I knew there was a reason Lee and I bought every bottle in the store.

Day 20 - Thunderhead Brewing Cropduster IPA

A mild IPA with a lot of drinkability, but not necessarily a fantastic IPA. It had a mild taste with a small bite at the end, and the mouthfeel is much like any other beer. I really wish I had more to day about this one since I love the can so much…and the name.

Day 19 - Rogue Shakespeare Oatmeal Stout

If you haven’t had this beer before, you must not have been drinking good beer for very long. This is always a good idea and with as readily available as this beer is, it’s a great pick for unwinding at the end of the day. Shakespeare has a good, smooth, chocolate grain taste and great, lingering aftertaste. The beers pretty good too ;)

Day 18 - Joseph James Brewing Imperial Russian Stout

This style is probably my second favorite next to a good IPA. I’ve had a ton of IRS’s and I’d love to say this was one of the best. However, this was among the mediocre ones. The initial flavor and mouthfeel were great, but it dissipated too quickly and left a sort of muddy water aftertaste. I’d say overall it’s a 6.75. Pretty ok beer…be better if it weren’t so damn expensive.

Day 17 - New Belgium Pumpkick

I’m always a bit skeptical when it comes to pumpkin beers. So many often turn out bad or incredibly underwhelming! However, New Belgium knew what they were doing when they brewed this one. It’s a great, sessionable beer with a good (and not an all spice overpowering) pumpkin flavor. A great seasonal beer that I look forward to drinking throughout the fall.
